ANDREA ASKS : Any Ideas on what color would be recommended for a Summer Wedding?
MICHELLE'S ANSWER : Wedding Color Forecast
Color.
I love COLOR!
I have done my research and oh what fun.
2007 will more than likely feature:
coral, melon, ambre, chocolate, pink, pool, peach, taupe, slate greys, light eggplant, aqua, light yellow, teal, magenta, rust, light eggplant, bright teal, dark golden taupe, citron, tangerine, amethyste, olive, ocean blue, and sage.
Fun and muted match perfectly with fresh and bold colors.
Let's take coral for instance. A lovely FRESH color. Paired up with a chocolate or DEEP dark chocolate is wonderful.
Slate and magenta. POP.
Taupe and olive subtle and soft.
I can go on and on.
Don't be afraid of color. Use 2-3 colors for your wedding. More would be busy. Two major colors and one accent color. Is just perfect!
Next time I will discuss *matching all of your wedding stationery*! LOVELY!
ANDREA ASKS : how would you word that beach attire at your wedding?
MICHELLE'S ANSWER : great question andrea! you can print Beach Chic in the lower right corner of your invite or print Beach Chic on your reception card in the lower right corner.
BETH ASKS : Hi Michelle! Your work is beautiful, and I would be interested in finding out how soon in advance you would recommend ordering. We just recently got engaged, and we are thinking of a wedding in St. John. Any information you could provide is great! Thanks!
ANSWER : I suggest you send save the date cards out 6-12 months before your wedding. Your wedding invites can then be mailed out 6-8 weeks before your wedding.
If you do not send save the dates you should consider sending your invites earlier to give your guests time to [save the date] take time off from work and make plans.
CARMEN ASKS: How do I write On invitations no children allow?
ANSWER: Hello! I would not put "Adults Only" on your invitation it may offend the older generation and/or those who are etiquette sticklers.
A new trend is actually printing the guests names RIGHT on the REPLY CARD! They will know EXACTLY who is invited then.
Your inner envelope is also used to give the guest an idea WHO is invited. So if you want "Mr. and Mrs. Jones" ONLY, that is what you write on your inner envelope. If you do want the kidders you would write: "Mr. and Mrs. Jones and Jonny"
Also, tell a family member who likes to talk. They will spread the word for you.
Remember, some may STILL bring their kidders. The reality of it is some people do what they want no matter what.
Just remember it is YOUR special day and NOBODY can take that away from YOU!
Enjoy!
KYRA ASKS: Wedding theme? I am having a masquerade themed wedding with lots of masks, feathers and candles. I am going to play classical music to keep with the theme, do you think this is cool or corny?
ANSWER: I LOVE themed weddings! Guests seem to be entertained MORE and LOVE the excitement of it all. Totally cool!
CYNDI ASKS: Is it rude to ask for gift cards from a specific store for a wedding present?
My fiance and I both have complete households, including four children each. We don't need anything except extra rooms. We are going to remodel our attic into bedrooms for the boys. Gift cards from Lowes would be perfect. I need to know if asking for such items would be considered rude or tacky. I know immediate family and friends will understand, but it's the others that I worry about.
ANSWER: Hello! I think it is fine to let people know what you truly NEED or want WHEN THEY ASK YOU.
Also have your family and friends spread the word for you.
:-)
Best wishes!
