Woweee! It has been a long time since I created an inspiration board for a wedding couple. I almost forgot how much fun it is!

Kathleen wants to incorporate trees, gorgeous flowers, and the colors cranberry, navy blue, and vintage light blue on her custom wedding invitations in a bottle. So many bottle colors to choose from! I love the NEW blue glass bottles. Just gorgeous!

The weather is rainy and dreary here today in Ohio. So today I am inspired by light pastel hues with a splash of elegant gold.

I stumbled across this GORGEOUS photo on Pinterest, of course. I pinned to my MINT GREEN wedding inspired wedding boards and have adored it ever since.

If you are looking for soft colors for an elegant spring wedding or event. These hues are for YOU.

Comprised of Minty Green, Soft Metallic Gold, Peachy Orange, Soft Blush Pink, and Light Mauve Pinks. Perfect for a wedding or bridal shower. So VERY LOVELY!

POP! I am loving this color mood board for summer!

Red, fandango pink, pink, yellow, light + dark greens are perfect for spring or summer. Add a splash of gold, silver, gray, brown, or black as an accent color.

If you are going to use Yellow with this mix, I would only add a teensy tiny dash. However, if you are a yellow lover then by all means go all out yellow and forget the red. You certainly don’t want your event looking like ketchup and mustard.

For a more preppy look, use the bright pink and bright light greens as your main colors. Throw in gray as an accent color. Gray will allow the pink and green to keep center stage.

Introducing… Wonderful Color Wednesday!

I have really missed gathering color boards for you. I have decided to dedicate one day a week to share my favorite inspiring color palettes with you. You can incorporate these color palettes in your home, party, bridal shower, wedding, business, and more!

As an artist. I am visually inspired by everything in my life. I look forward to bringing you a bit of fun and colorful inspiration to your world on Wednesdays!

So, let’s talk about today’s color palette! Bright. Bold. Beautiful Blossoms. Cobalt blue, purple, sangria, red, orange, yellow, and green.

I had just had a wonderful dinner and great conversation with my sister and a lovely old friend. When leaving, I was greeted by blossoms of summer ready for purchase. I pulled out my phone and started snapping pics. Lilies, daisies, roses, irises, mums, and more! What a lovely sight during our wintery spring we are enduring here in Ohio.

Although the occasional brilliant blue sky peeks through and brisk air is lovely during the winter … I am truly looking forward to the sun filled warm breezes of spring. As I type this, there are finches fluttering about in a tall pine bush sprinkled in snow right outside my studio window. They seem to know a secret. Spring weather is truly around the corner!!

I don’t normally share all of my clients invitations or inspiration / color mood boards, however this tropical blend was so gorgeous not to share! As you can see, at My Personal Artist we have a lovely array of colors and options for tropical invites! The combination of colors are truly endless.

This post was created for Sheila (a lovely stylish bride-to-be) to view the color cardstock options available for her tropical wedding invitations folders. I call this mix of tropical colors TROPICAL BLEND. I find this color combo to be softer than normal pop of hot pink hues tropical blends. Botanical and earthy with a splash of sea. So very beautiful!

UPDATE: Sheila’s custom tropical wedding invitations design. (Private details changed for publishing purposes.) I hand-painted the heliconia in watercolor. Turquoise Blue and Mango orange married with bright white thick cardstocks. Perfectly tropical!

Shown above is the actual Tropical Blue matte finish pocketfolder with Orange Flame metallic cardstock (I do not have the ‘Mango Orange’ in my hands at the moment) with Baby Maize Yellow + Orange Cream ribbons. Now my mouth is watering. Yummy tropical colors!

As I mentioned in this post… recently, I was asked by Taste of the Bay magazine to create some wedding color inspiration boards for them. I was delighted to find the perfect wedding photos in the hot 2011 wedding colors from my friends at Linczak Photography. This Green and Orange inspiration board and this tiffany blue, orange, and pink inspiration board will be published in their magazine very soon!

After viewing Linczak’s photos I created the orange and green daisy wedding invitations design shown above, CHLOE.

I am seeing more and more fun combinations of wedding colors from our REAL clients. I am working on save the date cards with 2012 brides now also and LOVE helping them decide on their wedding colors and stationery design.

Pinterest is awesome for gathering lovely inspirational photos, however I love choosing my MOST favorite photos for a wedding theme and/or color combo and combining them into one board.

Turquoise / diamond blue is fresh, fun and inviting paired with pink and orange! Hot for spring or summer weddings.

Recently, I was asked by “Taste of the Bay” magazine to create some wedding color inspiration boards for them. I was delighted to find the perfect wedding photos in the hot 2011 wedding colors from my friends at Linczak Photography. This inspiration board and another (I’ll share very soon!) will be published in their magazine.

After viewing Linczak’s photos I created the rose wedding invitations design shown above, ISABELLA.

Here I have paired honeysuckle pink, beeswax yellow, and coral rose orange. Remember, when creating your color combination know that you may not be able to find the perfect “honeysuckle pink” to match the color you see online. Don’t fret a hue in the same color family will work perfectly for your big day. Remember to have fun and mix it up a bit. A dash of light pink here and there are lovely too.

As you may know by now, I love to incorporate a fresh, modern palette of colors in my wedding inspiration boards. I just love this orange and silver gray color combo for Spring, Summer or Fall!

Looking back at 2009 in My Personal Artist Custom Invitations Studio, I reflect on all of the positive growth and blessings we had. First, I am truly grateful and feel so fortunate to again work with my husband James EVERY DAY in the studio. And LOVE working with my mother Pam, she hand tears edging, scents stationery, hand sparkles and hand ties the best bows ever!! Oh and we love the cakes and treats she brings into the studio!

My Personal Artist celebrated 11 years in business this year! Hard to believe, I know. You can certainly say we are pioneers in the custom, handmade invitation industry as only about 7 of us were online back then. (In the beginning I started our website on a free area AOL offered, then bought the domain name in 2000 and built our own site.)

2009 brought the most lovely clients yet! However, we are THRILLED to have started a fan page on facebook and see MANY of our fabulous past clients finding us now. I created many new custom hand painted motifs for clients this year. My personal favorite the hydrangea for JoAnn. And my favorite custom invitation design is Jillian’s moss filled box invite with the hand painted Italian statue.

Facebook and Twitter allowed me to connect personally with many OUT OF THIS WORLD wedding vendors and wedding industry greats. Wow. I adore all of you and I am truly grateful to have such great new friends.

We were recently named ONE of the “BEST OF 2009 WEDDING ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGNERS & VENDORS”! In 2010, we will continue to offer 100% recycled papers, wind mill manufactured papers, cotton letterpress invitations, tree free save the date cards and recycle all scraps of paper. We will also continue to buy and have trees planted!

This new blog *a wedding sketchbook* will continue to fill with my colorful inspiration boards weekly! Please bookmark us and check in daily!
