The colors are absolutely stunning together. I am planning an outside for next July and I want the bridesmaids to be in a classy color similar to this, but it’s called berry. I am having difficulty trying to find other colors to match with it. I would like one or more other colors that are lighter since it’s a summer wedding and my theme for the wedding is a wildflower theme that is summery and laid back. I was thinking maybe I could pair a couple accent colors for the ribbons and candles like a pale pink, pale yellow, and pale orange. I even thought of pairing it with a sky blue. Any advice?? Thank you!!
i like this wine color and was wondering if you think a pool blue color would go good with it? i have not seen the combination together anywhere but i am interested to know what it would look like. Thank you
Karen, Hello! Email me a link to your dress I will take a moment to pair with other colors for you. michelle {at} mypersonalartist {dot} com
Ashley, I LOVE the idea of pool blue with berry or sangria wine! Do you have bridesmaid dresses yet? If so email me. I’d love to pair up.
Thank you kindly ladies.

That dress is the same as the colour of my bridesmaids. Mind you that was nearly 13 years ago. But I paired that dress (and my own ivory lace dress) with bold, vibrant Autumn colours in the decorations and flowers. The result was really outstanding and memorable. It’s really a timeless colour.
Hello!
I love all the colors :) What color would be best for bridesmaids dresses, the wedding is end of August.
Thanks!
Shayla
I am really glad i can finally find some coordinating colors for this Sangria color I have fallen in love with. What could I mix with it for an early October wedding, I would thinking antique yellows… Thanks!
Hey Michelle!
Love you color combinations. I am having the most trouble deciding on my colors. If you go to my website you can see where and when the wedding will be. Any suggestion would be SO helpful! Thanks!!!
Hello Katie! I have created this inspiration board and I think you will love this lake theme wedding! Lakeside Wedding Venue :: Lakeside Wedding Inspiration Board :: http://su.pr/1CyaJB
Hello Regina! Teal and Sangria or Violet and Sangria with a splash of gold would be beautiful! Best wishes!
Shayla! I love the sangria/wine color dresses.
Hi Michelle. I had commented previously and sent you an email about my wedding colors along with the link of the color of the bridesmaid dresses I was looking into. Just wondering if you ever received it and if you had any ideas?? Thanks!
Hi Michelle. I absolutely love all of your sample boards but am still having trouble deciding on what I want my color palette to be. My fiance and I haven’t picked a place yet but have narrowed it down to two different options. One is an outdoor rooftop wedding in the city overlooking the Ohio River. I really like the idea of classic colors. Like red, black and white. Will people think this is morbid? I don’t want it to look like a gothic nightmare. It will be an evening wedding around sunset time. There are beautiful outdoor, garden wedding themes, but what about an outdoor, skyscraper view theme? My other option is a garden wedding and I love the butterfly theme. Stunning.
Hi!! My brother is getting married March 19, 2011. They’re having trouble choosing colors for a march wedding. I love the wine color with the other colors paired together shown above. I was also thinking of a green of some sort, light green & maybe a purple mixed in. Not too sure how that would look and I would love to hear some feedback on any other march colors so I can help them make a decision. Thank You!!
Hi! I am using sangria as one of my colors for my early Oct. wedding. Do you think a sage green and a touch of brown go with this color? My reception place has limited linens for me to choose from. (Table cloths–sage green, napkin–brown, centerpieces–sangria and green flowers) I am trying to imagine how these three colors go together and it is hard. =)
… I can’t decide on colors. I love pink and I love the rasberry color but I want something unigue yet beautiful and yet memorable and formal. My wedding is June 5, 2010 and the ceremony itself will have a waterfall background but it will be indoors. I love your schemes for colors. Please help!
Hello Troy! For a June wedding I would use light blue with your pink + raspberry color scheme! A perfect match for your waterfall background! Best wishes!!
Hello Mai! Absolutely! Mocha and Sage are a perfect combo with Sangria for your October wedding! Best wishes! xo
Hello Kim! I would stick with small hints of olive green or lime green for a March 2011 wedding. Best wishes!
Hello Brandie! I would add sky blue to your red, black and white palette. I love both wedding ideas. As I am a city girl and nature girl at heart. The butterfly theme sounds Aaaamazing too! Good luck deciding. Remember, go with your heart! xo
Karen, please send it to me today. Thank you.
Hello :)
I am getting married in October and am not sure on my colors yet. i really like sangria but i’m not sure what would go good with that color. any advice?
These colors are beautiful together and to read your comment that these are great, even HOT, fall colors made me smile as they are similar to what I’m thinking for my wedding this coming October! (As I see so many readers are as well) I’m wanting to add a stem color/lime green to this palette to really make it pop! So it’d be maybe even an eggplant purple, raspberry pink and the lime… Still trying to decide. This post is a great help! Thank you!
Hi
I am getting married 16 December 2010. I love the Sangria/wine, mauve , dusty pink colours.
I am clueless abt the colour for decor what should my base colour be? e.g table cloths, chair covers,
Please help !
Hi Michelle, your boards are beautiful! I am in love w/ the Sangria/Mauve color for my bridesmaid dresses and would love to combine it with a bouquet w/ primarily yellow flowers but am having a hard time picturing it. My wedding is late august and am also considering having blue flowers or ribbon. what do u suggest? should I take out the yellow ? if not, how can I incorporate it?
Hi,
I love this color scheme, however my wedding (outdoor) is set for May 2011. Is there any other color scheme similiar or do you have any suggestions on how to make this color scheme work for a spring wedding i.e. swap out one of the colors.
Thank you,
Erica
I LOVE this color scheme with a splash of gold. My wedding will be held in a Victorian mansion this November. My dress is beaded and lacy. I love the sangria tie color, what color suit would you recommend? Also, I was thinking of having my bridesmaids each wear a different color – there are five. So, sangria, mauve, dusty rose, what other two colors would blend in and match? Since I like the idea of adding gold, should one of the girls wear gold or will that stand out from the others too much?
I am so excited to have come across your blog!!
Hi,
I am in love with these colors, but am worried they may be a little to dark for a May wedding (2011). Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Erica
I am building a Sangria and Purple combo inspiration board now. It is lovely!!! Maybe you will love it too. Check back for new boards. Best wishes!
Hello Erica! Keep checking back. I am building many new inspiration boards! :)
Hello Tiff! I would use small splashes of gold in the bouquets and centerpieces. Candle light will also give a gold color effect. Best wishes!
Hello Jennifer!!! I LOVE the idea of a pop of lime with sangria! This color combo would be fun! You could mute the lime a bit to enhance an elegant theme. Best wishes!!
Hello Bronwin! The color IVORY is proving to be HUGE with my trend-setting brides this year! I would use buttercream or ivory as the base. Best wishes!
Hello Jocelyn! I am also having a hard time visualizing yellow, blue and sangria. I’m thinking coral a more cool orange red is a better combo. Coral, light blue and buttercream! Good luck.
Hello Erica! I am building a red, mauve and purple inspiration board with gerbera daisies. You may love it. Bookmark my blog and check back to view! Best wishes!
I just saw the post about sangria and lime and I want to see more! Does anyone have pictures of anything? I’m getting married in the Dominican Republic in January 2011. I love the sangria color but am worried that it’s too dark. I think the lime would bring it back to a more tropical feel. So…do you think sangria, lime, and ivory will work? BTW, I love this site!
I am getting married next May and would love to use this color combination. However, my venue is gold and marroon. How do think that it would work in this venue? Do you have any suggestions on how to incorporate these colors without clashing too much?
Hi, my wedding will be September or October, I love this sangria color for my bridesmaids, but I need to know what colors for the flowers I can use. I really like to include different shades of purple in my wedding and I want to include gold too. I really need your advice. Please help!!!
Hey! I am planning a wedding for August 28th. My bridesmaid dresses are sangria. I have been thinking about getting sheer gold table toppers to go over the white linens I have for the reception. I want to use gerbera daisies. I am trying to figure out what color daisies I should use. Any ideas on what could tie all this together?
Hi Michelle,
My wedding is in mid-July and the bridesmaid dress is sangria color. I like to have yellow as primary color for the flowers. What other colors can go with these combinations? Any suggestion on the type of flowers?
I am planning a wedding in late September. I am planning to use pale pink and black for my colors, but I feel I need something more……would the sangria be my best bet?
Hi Michelle!
My wedding is late November and I’m still figuring out my colors! This board jumped out at me…
What do you think of chocolate suits for the groomsmen with sangria dresses for the girls? I would also like to incorporate coral in with the flowers, maybe coral and purples. Think that will work or any other suggestions?
Thanks :)
Hi Michelle! I love your current board with sangria..my wedding is on Dec 18, 2010 and I definitely love the idea of a sangria/wine color matched with silver and/or ivory. I’m not quite sure how to pull this look together to fit my winter wedding in Florida. (It won’t be too cold here!)
I am going for the “simple but elegant and classy” feel. Any suggestions? I also love a predominantly white bouquet with a little color in it.
Thank you for your help!
Margaret
I forgot to mention my wedding is in the daytime indoors at a resort!
Hello Kim-Mai. I would use buttercup yellow with the sangria. You will have to ask your florist what is in season and within budget. Good luck! xo
Hello Shannon! I would see if mauve and sangria color gerbera daisies are available. The sheer gold table toppers sound lovely! Best wishes!
Hello Nayla! Bright violet purple will pop or lilac is lovely! Good luck! xo
Hello Becky! Here is part one of the forecasted 2011 color trends!
Hello Ann! Gold and Maroon are lovely! I would add splashes of coral or orange also. Best wishes!
Hello Margaret! You can use mostly silver with splashes of sangria/wine color or reverse that. Use mostly sangria/wine with splashes of silver! Best wishes. xo
Hello Julie! Pale pink and black are lovely with ivory! So elegant!!! I updated this Blush Pink and Black Anemone Wedding Inspiration Board with you in mind! Best wishes! xo
Hello michelle,
My wedding is feb 27,2011 and we want to use these colors i’m still deciding on accent colors would gold or silver. Im also confused on linens for tableswhat color should they be sangria or mauve. what kind of colors of flowers would work well here.
Thanks
i love this color combo! my fiancee and i have decided to use it and for the bouquets we are using tulips roses, lillies and hydrangeas. I was having the hardest time trying to find a color combo that i would love until i came across this site. My wedding is on sep 30 2011 so it will be perfect.
What Pantone color number is the mauve?
Who designed the bridesmaid’s dress in wine mauve and pink?
Hi, I have the sangria colored dresses for my bridesmaids from David’s bridal. I’m having an outdoor wedding on September 18th and I’m having the hardest time trying to find a color that goes well or will compliment the color of the girls dresses. My fiance thinks we should do lime green – but lime green flowers? I don’t know what to think. Any advice is appreciated.
Hi Michelle – I love the colour scheme above. Although I see that you have suggested the colour scheme for a summer wedding. i am having a Spring wedding in the Southern Hemisphere. How do you think the colours above will work for a spring wedding – If not is there any other colour I can add to it to make it work for a spring wedding.
We are getting married at a church and having a reception at a vineyard?
Sincerely
Sneha
I am Maid of Honor in a friends wedding in July. Her dress is Mauve. What color of dress should I be looking for that goes great with Mauve????
Hi Karen! So many colors go with Mauve, depending on the look you want. Taupe, khaki, scallop shell, gray, mocha, celery, etc. Good luck.
Hi Valerie! You can go to the Dessy.com website and ask them.
Hi Amanda! I would go with celery green!
Hi Denisse! I would show this color combo to your florist and check out 40 Petals Wedding Flower Inspiration Blog.
hi michelle,
thanks to you, i think i have found my colors for my wedding this oct 2010! but i love very dark red, do you think i could add that in? also would adding gold look nice? i was also planning to add japanese accents (eg cherry blossoms).. to my wedding. with these what type of addtl colors would you suggest? do you have samples of bride’s maid dresses? was thinking one would wear pink, the other wine, etc. thanks michelle!
hi,
i love this color, but i also love very dark red. do you think i could add this color to the motiff or can i change the sangria to a darker shade of red, would it still look nice?
Hi Gina, What third color would you choose if you had to? Another Red, Green, Purple or Blue?
Hi Gina, You could change to a dark red, however I would change the other colors also. :)
Hi Michelle,
I am using the color sangria (David’s Bridal) for my bride’s maids. What complimentary color would you suggest? I was thinking champagne, but I am not sure. Would you add a 3rd color? What color suit or Tux for the fellas? I am getting married in October in an old turn of the century hotel. My theme is vintage elegance. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Hi Michelle, I am getting married in August and I am going with Sangria for my girls. I was wondering if a light purple and white bouquet would be a good choice for them and what color should the guys wear?
Hi Michele, Perfect! I love light purple and white together with sangria. Lovely choice. I would give the guys the choice of light purple or sangria. Good luck.
Hi Tracy, Champagne is perfect. I love black or gray for the men’s suits.
HI!
I was wondering what fall colors u think are great with either dark purple or the sangria color
Hello Clara, I love gray or black. For another accent color a pop of lime green is lovely! Or burnt orange. Have fun!
